Experimental Study of the Dynamic Compressive and Tensile Strengths of Fly Ash and Slag Based Alkali-Activated Concrete Reinforced With Basalt Fibers

The use of industrial by-products, e.g., fly ash, slag, as complete replacement Portland cement to make alkali-activated concrete (AAC) has become a hot topic due the contribution sustainability in construction industry. AAC comparable compressive strength compared ordinary (OPC) and many advantages, such excellent durability corrosion resistance. However, similar OPC, AACmaterial still certain shortcomings brittleness, low tensile strength, poor impact resistance, which can be improved by incorporating fibers matrix. This paper considers basalt fiber-reinforced (BFRAAC), explores dynamic strengths through series tests. test results show that BFRAAC exhibits significant strain rate effect, is, material increases with rate. Compared material, sensitivity its is more marked. Based on results, empirical formulas describing relation between are proposed.
